Tim Taylor
Director. Writer. Storyteller.
My journey into short films began when I heard the story of Teklit Guzay and his harrowing path from life under a dictatorship in Eritrea to citizenship in the US. With the help of some incredible friends the resulting film, "Citizen Teklit," won the inaugural Indiana Spotlight prize at the 2015 Heartland Film Festival and received international acclaim at the MOSTRA Festival of American Film in São Paulo, Brazil.
Then I heard the story of a humble plumber in Indianapolis who played the trumpet and mentored dozens of working musicians in the local jazz community. The film, "Go Get Your Horn" was similarly honored with the 2016 Heartland Indiana Prize and was featured at the New York Jazz Film Festival.
I've had some incredible opportunities.
My latest short film, "Shiv. The Seanchaí of Greystones," was shot entirely in County Wicklow, Ireland. Once again a person I met allowed me to be part of their life for a short time and then share with you their story. It's an honor to do so.
Along the way I've been fortunate to tell other stories I've come across, some of which are featured on this site. With each I am reminded that filmmaking is a team sport. Without the support of my colleagues and their countless hours, I wouldn't be able to share my art with you at all. I am greatly in their debt in creating these works, as I am to you for viewing them. Thanks for doing so.

PS - Yes, that's me in front of Bono's house, just south of Dublin. Yes, I rang. No, Bono did not come out.
